In the Netherlands you come across them more and more, people who appear to cycle effortlessly into the wind, up viaducts, and leaving groups of cyclists behind in their dust. Their secret isn’t years of training or being in perfect shape, it’s the E-Bike.

The E-Bike is a bicycle with a electronic support system. The bicycles are at first sight often mistaken for a “ regular” bicycle. They are sporty touring bikes that have all the comforts a bike can have. The E-Bike usually has seven gears and a “turbo” with three settings. The display on the handlebar shows the strength of the support and the amount of electricity in the battery. The battery is processed in the frame or put under the carrier on the back. And the long distances can test ones endurance. Cycling can easily become hard work. That’s why the E-bike is a perfect solution. It’s the solution to be outdoors in a sporty and pleasant way With the power directed bicycling its always an immense pleasure. Without any effort you can cycle long distances and defy any hill you come across. That's the only downside of the E-bike: it’s addictive. Because once you are used to that adjustable “push in the back” you don’t want to be without it anymore. A healthy addiction by the way. Because you will use the bicycle way more often and your cruising range is suddenly much larger.

In that point of view it’s surprising that you don’t see that many E-Bikes in the Costa Blanca. The climate lends itself perfectly of a bicycle tour and there are large areas that are perfect for cycling. For a lot of Dutch who are living here or are spending long holidays over here, these bicycles are an excellent way to enjoy these surroundings and healthy outdoor air. Probably the cause of this is that up till now it wasn’t possible to buy a quality bicycle with “power”.
